UVI – Rumble Torrent: Overview
Rumble was developed by UVI to meet contemporary demands for bass-oriented sound design. Unlike traditional synthesizers, which work with a single synthesis engine, Rumble offers three parallel engines that operate together but with structural independence. Each engine is responsible for a frequency range: Body covers sub-bass and bass, Character acts on the midrange, and Air on the highs. This separation ensures that the producer can manipulate each layer with precision without compromising the overall balance of the sound.
The result is a synthesizer capable of delivering heavy and defined lows, mids rich in presence, and crystalline, articulate highs. This multiband approach is especially useful in genres where bass is the protagonist, such as trap, dubstep, drum & bass, and EDM, but it also adapts to cinematic and experimental soundtracks. In addition, Rumble includes an extensive library of presets created by specialized designers, covering everything from 808s and wobbles to atmospheric drones and abstract textures.

Each engine has its own oscillators, wave-shapers, and effect slots, which then converge into a shared filter stage, multiband compressor, and master equalizer. Rumble offers nine oscillator models, including analog, digital, and hybrid options, as well as ten wave-shaping modes with AM injection between bands. This means the producer can create tones ranging from warm analog lows to futuristic and complex textures. Sound fidelity is reinforced by dedicated effect chains and the possibility of detailed manipulation of each layer, ensuring professional results in any context.
