Memory V is Arturia’s tribute to the classic Moog Memorymoog, one of the most iconic polyphonic synthesizers of the 1980s. Known for its architecture of three oscillators per voice and the characteristic Moog ladder filter, the Memorymoog was described as “six Minimoogs in one instrument.” Arturia’s digital version precisely recreates this analog character using TAE® (True Analog Emulation) technology, which models each component of the original circuit, including oscillators, filters, mixer, and analog nonlinearities.
Beyond faithful recreation, Memory V expands the capabilities of the original instrument with features never possible in hardware. These include extended polyphony up to 12 voices, drag-and-drop modulation, four-layer Multi-Arp, a four-slot effects rack, and MPE support. This combination makes Memory V not just an emulation but an evolution of the classic synthesizer, adapted to modern music production needs.

The classic ladder filter has been faithfully recreated, including the option to switch between 24 dB and 12 dB, expanding sonic possibilities. Arturia also added bass compensation to correct the loss of power at high resonance values, a known limitation of the original filter. With dedicated ADSR envelopes for filter and VCA, plus additional controls such as keytrack and velocity, Memory V offers flexibility and realism close to the experience of playing the original hardware.

Memory V is not limited to recreating the past: it was designed to offer modern creative tools. The drag-and-drop modulation system allows quick configuration of complex interactions between oscillators, filters, envelopes, and LFOs. The four-layer Multi-Arp makes it possible to create intricate rhythmic and melodic patterns, ideal for electronic music, soundtracks, and sonic experimentation.
The integrated effects rack includes reverbs, delays, chorus, and other processors, allowing sound shaping without relying on external plugins. The library of over 300 presets created by Arturia’s team covers everything from vintage brass and bass timbres to cinematic pads and modern textures. Integration and modern workflow
Compatible with macOS and Windows, Memory V works in VST, AU, and AAX formats, easily integrating into major DAWs. It is not available as standalone software, but installation and activation are simple through the Arturia Software Center. MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) support further expands performance possibilities, allowing control of individual parameters per note on compatible controllers.
